Take a walk through the 'Modern Meadow'

Hey there ladies! And happy Monday to you! I hope you all had a gorgeous weekend! Here in Fort Worth the weather has been OUTRAGEOUSLY fabulous! Clear skies, cool breezes...wow, it actually feels like fall! This time of year always makes we want to drink a pumpkin spice latte, snuggle up with a quilt and work on crafty projects!

So if you've got a project (maybe a Christmas present?) that's in need of fabric, take a look at this gorgeous new line from Joel Dewberry, 'Modern Meadow'...you'll just die!

Modern Meadow  Modern Meadow  Modern Meadow
Modern Meadow  Modern Meadow  Modern Meadow

I'm sooo in love with this line! I feel like you could make ANYTHING beautiful with these prints! I think they would look especially awesome as tote bags! You could make a bunch for Christmas presents for all your pals! Sew much fun you could have with these fabrics! So, start day dreaming ladies!

I found these cute kissing birds made with 'Modern Meadow' on Joel Dewberry's website! Too cute!

New quilt kits you'll LOVE!

Hey ladies! I hope you're having a splendid week thus far! We've got a lot of exciting things in the works at The Cabbage Rose in the next few weeks and there will some announcements soon so stay tuned!

We're going kit CRAZY and have lots of awesome new additions and I thought I'd highlight some of my faves!

This beauty is the Blossom Road Quilt Kit in the GORGEOUS line "Bliss"! I'm seriously obsessed with this kit! So bright and cheery, it's the best mix of red, aqua and pink with touches of green! The bold, floral border is my favorite part!

This is the Floating Blocks Hooty Hoot Kit and it's available in a blue colorway (shown) and a green colorway! The owl prints are just two cute for words! And I love that some of the prints have a mid century, atomic feel! Perfect for a baby boy so if you've got a little man coming into your life, pick up this kit and make an adorable and meaningful gift!

The Easy Breezy Quilt Kit in Party Dress is just that...easy! The center of this quilt looks like hexagon piecing but it's actually just a solid panel of fabric! So all you really have to do is create the "piano keys" border and put it all together! What did I tell you? EASY!!!

Last but certainly not least is the Happy Kit Easy 4 5 6! I don't know what it is about this quilt but I just love it! Maybe it's the pastels smartly mixed with black and white prints, but whatever it is, it WORKS! It's fun and feminine and cute as a button, you'll love curling up with this little number to read your latest quilting mag!

We have even more new and wonderful kits on our website so be sure to browse through them! They're perfect one-stop shopping for a new project or as gifts for your crafty friends or family members! You're sure to find one to fall in love with! :)

Outside the (fabric) box...

We have some pretty darn crafty ladies working at The Cabbage Rose!

The creator of this cute confection is our own Jenny O'Neill! Isn't it ADORABLE? This is a perfect example of how you can use fabric in non-conventional ways! This would make a too cute wall hanging for a birthday party! You could use a stencil and cut letters out of fabric to spell HAPPY BIRTHDAY on it. Or, make a bunch of little fabric cupcakes and put one letter on each to make a bunting style banner! Oh, the possibilities!

I hope Jenny's cupcake inspires you to think outside the box when it comes to fabric! There are sooo many uses for fabric, it's NOT just for quilting! Think party decor, toys, art and more!

What do you use fabric for? We LOVE hearing new ideas!

Cute little extras!

Happy Friday to you!

I just wanted to pop in real quick to share these SUPER cute little accessories that we have in the shop!

How cute is this lunch box??? You could use it for keeping random notions, spools of thread or, the obvious, your lunch! The quote is awesome, that's how you reciprocate the vacuum your husband got you for Christmas! ;)

I'm obsessed with this tea towel set! The quotes are hard to read in the picture so here's what they say:

Top left: "You haven't had enough caffeine until you can thread a sewing machine while it's running."
Top right: "I got my husband a sewing machine! Good trade, huh?"
Bottom left: "Eat Sleep Sew"
Bottom right: "When I learned how to sew I forgot how to cook."

Adorable, right? Yeah, I think so too! Both of these would make great gifts for any of your crafty friends! Or you could keep the cuteness all to yourself...I wouldn't blame ya!

Have a fabulous weekend! And if you're near Fort Worth, come see us at the Trinity Valley Quilters' Guild "Everyday Heirlooms Quilt Show"! All the details are in the post below!

Bonnie and Camille Video!

Happy Wednesday ladies! Today I wanted to share this video of Bonnie and Camille, the mother-daughter duo behind my new favortie line "Bliss", at Market earlier this year! Bonnie is the designer behind all the fabulous Cotton Way patterns and her daughter Camille is the designer of Thimble Blossoms! Together they've created one of the cutest lines of the season and in this video they talk about their newest items!
(you can turn off our blog's music to view this video by scrolling down to the blue iPod Nano on the right side of the blog and clicking the pause button)

We have most Bonnie's patterns mentioned in this video! I posted links to all of her patterns except one on Monday so here's the last one! (This is the pattern that comes in all the different sizes and that she used the Snuggles fabric with!)

Autumn is Upon Us!

Wow! I just have to say, today in Fort Worth, TX has been a breath of much-needed, cool air! I've had the windows open all day and have be craving more of that Fall-ish crisp smell in the air! It's inspired me to share some of our Fall inspired fabric lines and projects!

We just got Arnold's Attic in and I'm just crazy over all of the warm tones and leaf prints! These would make a fabulous quilt!

October is one of my favorite lines for the season! Loving the tall tree print (bottom right).
