Soul Blossom by Amy Butler is HERE!!!

The wait is finally over...SOUL BLOSSOM by Amy Butler is HERE!!!
We just received her absolutely stunning quilting cottons and let me tell you, everyone in the shop was drooling over the bolts even while they were still wrapped in plastic! This line is by far my favorite of Amy's work, the patterns and colors are bolder and brighter than anything she's done so far! I'm getting a million ideas just looking at these beautiful prints! And what's more, Amy has released some new FREE projects inspired by this gorgeous line that I'm just dying to try!

How awesome are the yo-yo's on the Bloom Quilt? It reminds me of something you'd see at Anthropologie! And I'm just in love with the piecing of the Sunshine Quilt, to die for!! (Click the names to download the free patterns)

And if you're a beginning sewer, try your hand at making a pair of Patchy Jeans! A surefire way to liven up even the oldest pair of Levis and use fabulous fabric at the same time! Can't beat that with a yard stick! ;)

If you're in need of even MORE inspiration (or if you're like me and are just obsessed), check out this cute video! I love all the home decor ideas that Amy comes up with! She's already got me wanting to buy this entire collection and redo my entire house, so crafty divas beware! This video may be hazardous to your bank account! ;)

Don't forget we carry ALL of  Amy's gorgeous patterns so if you're looking for more project ideas, be sure to browse through them all here!

A Thread of Thought

Good morning ladies!! Last night was the Marie Bostwick Book Signing & Presentation and I just have to say it was incredible! She was such an inspiration to listen to and brought the entire room to tears on various occasions with all of her wonderful stories! Her words were nothing short of uplifting and empowering, she really left us all so thankful to be in the same position as the subjects of her novels, surrounded by fabric, surrounded by quilts and most importantly, surrounded by women...who have all walked similar paths and experienced similar heart break. And what's magical about being apart of a quilt shop is being able to hear those stories, to help mend the hearts by nothing more than talking fabric or dishing about latest projects! Watching creativity mend people's lives, like stitching together a quilt is a beautiful process that we are so incredibly blessed to have witnessed so often thoughout our time as Cabbage Rose. So many women have come through our doors over the years seeking a safe place, a haven or a getaway...and we were all so thankful for being reminded of what it means to be apart of quilt shop. Thank you Marie, for sharing your story and the stories of others. It's so good to be reminded of how women banded together, with the comforting help of fabric, can overcome any and every obstacle!

Threading the Needle

I would love to encourage you all to pick yourself up one or ALL of Marie's books! The themes of her Cobbled Court series are centered around these very ideas and are just SO encouraging as well as entertaining! She was wonderful enough to sign the rest of the books that we had left over so if you would like pick up your own SIGNED COPY, we have some available here and in our Books section! And to all of you who came out, thank you so much! We hope she left you all as encouraged and inspired as us! WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Ahoy Matey! Pirates Fabric has landed in the Shop!

Pirates Charm Pack Pirates Fat Quarter Bundle Pirates Layer Cake

Get ready to set sail for open water, treasure and adventure with Pirates by Emily Taylor Design for Riley Blake! Inspire your little swashbuckler's sense of adventure with these fun pirate prints! Create fun costumes and accesories for the ultimate in make-believe gear or make a fun quilt to adorn their ship (all beds count as pirate ships, right?) The sky's the limit when it comes to what you would look cute with a pirate make-over! Even a pair of pirate pj's would be an awesome addition to any captain's wardrobe!

Pillowcase Kit - Pirates Grey       Pillowcase Kit - Pirates Blue

We even made up a couple super cute Pillowcase Kits from the main prints in this line! If your kiddo plans on being a pirate for Halloween, grab one of these fun and quick kits and create a super cute handmade loot bag for their candy! And after the holiday is over, they still have a cool pillowcase for their overnight pillow or to go on their bed! That's a double whammy project right there!

What would you like to create with Pirates? If you've already created something with this fun line, leave a link in the comments so we can check it out! ;)

Quilt Across Texas!

2011 is the 175th anniversary of Texas Independence and it is also the year of the 1st Annual Quilt Across Texas Shop Hop! This statewide event will be held during the month of September, 2011 and will include over 90 quilt shops located throughout the state of Texas. During the month, visitors are invited to stop at each shop participating in the event to take advantage of special Texas-themed quilt designs, quilt block patterns, giveaways, and prizes both on statewide and regional levels!

To qualify for the prizes, a passport called The Guide will be required which will be stamped at each store when visited. The Guide will contain useful information about the shops that are involved, maps of Texas and other interesting facts. The Guide will be available at all participating shops for $5 and will contain a $5 coupon that is redeemable at any of the 90 shops. You can buy it HERE!
