Storybook Lil' Boy's Room in Lil' Rascals!

Hi everyone! As you probably already know, we have Lil' Rascals by Chloe's Closet on SALE for 25% off! A great deal no doubt, but how to use it? Well while I was just minding my own business, looking for something on the Moda site, I found a link to this awesome series of tutorials on Sew4Home for a little boys room utilizing Lil' Rascals fabric! I obviously HAD to share! These ideas are too cute and a great way to use this adorable fabric!

Click on the name of each project for step-by-step instructions, supplies needed and helpful pictures!

Learn how to make these super sweet Sleeptime Pillowcases! These are so simple to create so try this project first! Sometimes you need that instant gratification project to really motivate you! ;)

Next, try your hand at the Cozy, Personalized Bound Blanket! Nothing keeps a little one feeling safe and warm quite like a blankie and with these fast and easy steps, you'll be able to create a completely personalized blanket for your sweetie in no time! They call for fleece in this tutorial, but why not use some of our absolutely scrumptious Wool & Needle Flannels! Sew soft and perfect prints for boys!

I'm so in love with the Learn-To-Spell-Bunting! It adds that little touch of whimsy that every child needs in their nursery or bedroom! Plus, all the pennants have a front and back so you can put a different letter on each side. And since they're easy to string and re-string, so you can make lots and spell out a new word every day! What a fun way to begin learning to spell, huh?!

Another super cute idea, create the Bedtime Storybook Caddy so your little mister can keep his favorite bedtime storybooks close at hand for mom or dad to pick up where they left off last night! The caddy slips between mattress and box spring, held in place by the mattresses themselves or you can use some gripper fabric for extra security!

For a sweet and sophisticate window covering, make this Pleated Window Valance! Bring some more pattern to the eyes of the room without making full curtains! Plus you can pair them with an inexpensive, netural curtain for full coverage and another dimension!

The Carry Along Floor Pillow is the perfect companion for any room of the house but is especially wonderful for little boys as they practiacally LIVE on the floor! Playing cars or trucks is most fun with a lot of room to romp and a cushion to keep your backside comfy! Plus, the convenient carrying strap makes this little cushion a no-brainer when going to friends, grandma's or on vacation!

Lastly, take a swing at creating plushies with this super sweet Ukelele Pillow! Little boys will love rocking out on their pint-size, guitar-like pillow! And you'll love looking at such a cute and unique toy that you handmade for him! Too much cute!!

If you create all of these fun little projects, your boy will have the Storybook Bedroom of his dreams! And you'll be able to pat yourself on the back for creating such an adorable room without purchasing a pattern and with discounted fabric! Go you! ;)

Kid's Camp Round 2!

We finished up our last week of Kid's Camp and I think it's safe to say we all had a ball watching these young ones create their gorgeous quilts and pillowcases!!! And yes, they just HAD to learn to make our signature poufs to go with their brand new creations!

They all learned so much from fabric selection and placement to construction and solid sewing techniques all along the way! A huge thanks to Shirley, Janet and all the other Cabbage Rose girls who helped out! They know better than anyone that if you give a gal a quilt, you keep her warm for the winter; but if you teach a gal to quilt, you keep her and her entire family comfy and cozy for life! We're excited to see what these little ladies will be creating in the future! From the looks of their Kid's Camp quilts, I'm guessing they'll be making some real treasures!

This is one of our favorite events of the year and we run a camp each Summer so if this looks like something your kids might be interested in, stay tuned next Spring for the 2012 dates!!
