We LOVE All Things Laser Cut!!
We are just too excited about all of our NEW & AMAZING Laser-Cut Block of the Month programs! We've had our eyes on some of these fabulous quilts for a long time but with all that cutting and prep-work, they just never seemed like a reality in our shop full of busy ladies! But with all of the applique pieces already cut out to perfection for you with fusing already applied, there's not a sewer out there that can't complete one of these fabulous designs! When all you have to do is iron down a piece and stitch it as you please, that leaves a whole lot less time to get distracted or bored! Being able to see the quilt come to life quickly by simply ironing down the shapes is incredibly rewarding! Even Karen who hasn't made a quilt in a few years (go ahead, ask her next time you see her in the shop!) is already working on her Flower Pots blocks!! So if you would like to bring one or ALL of these fabulous quilts into your home, I'm here to say with these Laser-Cut programs, it's easy as cake!

Shop all of our Block of the Month Programs here!

And don't forget to order an applique pressing sheet, some invisible thread or some Finca Perle Cotton thread to start working on these fun projects!

Pretty, Practical Projects are the BEST!
Okay, so I have to say I'm a total sucker for anything pretty that's ACTUALLY practical. Yes, I do still obsess over things with no intrinsic value beyond their cuteness, but you take something that I have to use every day and make it pretty?? Well, that's how you steal my heart! And when Chris brought these adorable samples of the Lunch Bunch Pattern by Indygo Junction into the shop, I just about had a cute-heart-attack!
First of all, EVERYONE eats lunch and a lot of us do it out of the home 5 days a week, so that's even more encouragement to invest the time to create something all your own! Second, the pattern calls for lining each bag with PUL (call us to order), a waterproof fabric that makes the bags food safe and machine washable so that you can use them over and over! This is a much more GREEN option than using brown paper sacks and plastic sandwhich bags, think of how much trash you'll eliminate!! Thirdly, the folks at Indygo Junction thought of it all with the extras in this pattern! You not only get a pattern for the big lunch bag, large sandwhich bag, a small snack bag, a circular snack bag that can be closed with a ribbon or cord and serves as a placemat when open (too cool!), and last but certainly not least, a reversible napkin! The whole set together is perfect for packing individual lunches for picnics, trips to the amusement park, or really anywhere you might only have a picnic table (or your lap) to eat on. And I just love that you can wipe out the insides when you get home or if you're lunch got a little messy (say, a dripping PB&J), you can throw the whole set into the washing machine with your next load of laundry!
This is a great project to create for school-aged kids, even for those who are college-bound this year! Can you say, graduation gift?? Use some more graphic and masculine fabrics like Parson Gray's debut collection Curious Nature and create a set for your husband to take to work!
My hubby and I resolved this year to take more homemade, nutritious lunches to work and with this awesome and creative way to tote our munchies, it's going to be even less of a challenge! Like I said, cute and practical gets me and a lot of times I'm terrible at keeping up with something unless I can do it as cool//cute as stinkin' possible! So here's to more handmade goodness in all areas of life!
What are your favorite practical projects? Anything you love to make for people again and again?

Make Something That Counts with Ten Little Things!
All of the Cabbage Rose shoppers have been going nuts over Ten Little Things by Jenn Ski, the perfect NEW collection for little boys. Her little owl and truck illustrations are too cute for words and just perfect for a nursery or a even a young boy's bedroom! Or if you just want a little bit of this line's cuteness, how about making this super sweet On the Go Baby Boy Quilt!
I found the recipe for this little cutie on the Moda Bake Shop Blog and I think it's a great way to use these colorful prints!
All you need is:
1 1/4 Yards of Solid White for Quilt Top Background
1/2 Yard for Applique and Binding (30505 40 - Navy Stars was used in the sample)
1/2 Yard for Borders and Pieced Back (30504 17 - Lime Dots was used in the sample)
1 1/2 yard for backing (30501 19 - Grey Trucks was used in the sample)
You can get the full instuctions with pictures here!
We saw the ever-so-cute Dottie Quilt by Cluck Cluck Sew made up with Ten Little Things at Quilt Market this Fall and it was too cute! You can create this quilt with Layer Cakes and Fat Quarters so grab some pre-cuts and save yourself some cutting time! You can grab the pattern and get the Fabric Requirements for this quilt here!

And of course there's the Numbers Quiet Book FREE PATTERN that you can create with a panel and the too-cool-for-school Chalk Cloth! This is a great way for little ones to practice drawing their numbers and a fun way for them to occupy their time on all those Summer roadtrips you have planned!
There's a lot of fun uses for Chalk Cloth outside of this project, Caroline used it to make this super cute bunting that would be fabulous for any occasion! You can change it up with the seasons or for parties! Just draw yourself a template (any shape you want) and trace onto the cloth with chalk (what else?), then cut your bunting out, use a hole punch and ribbon or fabric scraps to hang and your done! Easy peasy!
What are you thinking of making with this collection? Take a picture of your creations and tag us on Facebook to inspire us and others!
And don't foget to follow the NEW Cabbage Rose Twitter!

All the girls in the shop squeeled a bit with delight when we unwrapped Cabana Blooms a few weeks ago and being that this is the first fabric collection from Iza Pearl Designs, its even more awesome!!! The designer of this fabulous collection, Melissa Ybarra shared these awesome inspiration pictures on our Facebook and I just had to share them with you!
Doesn't that picture above make you crave your own ocean-front cabana?? Give me a fruity drink, a good book and a quilt out of Cabana Blooms and I'd be a happy camper for days! But seriously, who wouldn't??
And I'm absolutely dying over her softie animals! They would make the coolest gift for any of the Little's in your life! Girl, you need to get on making some patterns! ;)
I hope these gorgeous images inspired you to use this collection in a new way!
