Obsessing Over Brights for Summer!!

We are just LOVING all of the BRIGHTS that are coming out this season! I know Summer is the time of year when we're usually on the look out for these brighter hues and with amazing collections like Bekko Home Décor Sateens, you can create everything from fun skirts and sturdy tote bags to recovering a vintage chair or making an awesome quilt (they're still light enough to feel amazing!)

Pam experimented with them in this funky patchwork quilt she created after getting inspired by the Summer catalogs! Don't think you have to stay within a collection or even a fabric type when making a quilt! She used cottons and sateens from several different collections and the result is just awesome!! Use some Cotton Couture Solids, crazy prints or tonals! Just keep the color family similar or complimentary and you're golden!!

We also have these great OMBRE'S from the Simply Color collection and they are just SCREAMING to me made into something fabulous this season! One of our Facebook friends mention creating a super trendy Ombre Skirt, and another said the gradation of these fabrics is perfect for appliqueing flowers!! How will you use them??

This sampler quilt is exactly like its sister, BLACK WHITE & GRAY ALL OVER featuring an Irish Chain and some beautiful bright fabrics! It last 12 months and SHIPPING IS FREE for US Customers! After-School Sewing Series!!

Our very own Caroline Hulse is teaching an awesome After-School Sewing Class Series for kiddos between 7-12  this season! If you have a little one who would love to learn how to sew this year,  then we would love to have them take part in this fun new series! There will be 4 classes, each meeting on Tuesdays afternoons from 3:45-5:30pm, in which students will learn basic sewing skills with each of the projects featured! No prior sewing experience is required, they will learn great basic sewing skills! Moms and Grammies can make their weekly trip to Cabbage Rose after school on Tuesdays and shop while your kiddo  learns to sew!

Here is what we will be making!

February 12th: Infinity Scarf
February 19th: Pillowcase
February 26th: Tote Bag (part 1)
March 5th: Tote Bag (part 2)

Students are required to bring a sewing machine (with manual), thread (cream or grey), scissors, pins, and any other necessary sewing supplies. But if your student doesn't have a sewing machine, contact Caroline and we can try to work something out! Don't let that stop your from signing your child up to learn how to sew! Hope to see your kids there!!
