Fig Tree Trunk Show!

Hi there ladies! We have had Fig Tree & Co.'s great new Trunk Show in our new shop so I thought I'd share some pictures for those who can't come see it in person!

This quilt is named Petite Fours! I'm really loving all those little baskets! A perfect quilt for all your picnicking adventures! Although, I'm sure it would be hard to put a quilt this beautiful on the ground! I think it looks even more gorgeous on the lovely barn doors hanging in the front of our shop! ;)

The quilt to the left of the bed is Praire Sweets Revisited, the quilt on the bed is Vanilla Blooms, and the one one the right side of the bed is Nooks & Crannies. I really love the look of a beautiful quilt hanging from a large embroidery hoop! Our Cabbage Rose Girls are fantastic at displaying quilts beautifully! You can purchase these patterns by clicking on the names of the quilts!

Aren't these Strawberry Shortcake pincushions adorable? These would make great gifts for sewers or anyone who loves strawberries! You could display them on a vintage cake stand like we have here for a sweet and simple table decoration! Sew cute!

This sweet little cape is called Raindrops! You can make your kiddo a shield from the rainiest days by making it with vinyl fabrics or you could make it out of quilted fabrics for an any day poncho!

The About Town Bag is chic, simple and perfect for any woman on the go. Big enough to carry everything you need and still small enough to find things! It's also quick and easy to make, you could finish this bag in an evening! Grab this pattern and whip one up for a last minute Christmas gift! Click on the name to get more info and see the material list for this project.

I hope you enjoyed this Trunk Show feature! For any of you in the area, you simply MUST come see our new shop if you haven't already. All of these samples are so much more lovely in person! All the patterns we've shown here are for sale in our online store!

Ava's Tea Room!

Ava, the oldest of the O'Neill grandbabies, recently turned 5 and her party was ADORABLE! Her mom, Janna used fabric for a lot of the decor (of course from Grammie's shop) and really transformed their formal dining room into a sweet little tea room for Ava! You can see all the pictures from the party on the adorable  Chickabug blog! Sew inspiring!

She's such a doll! ;)

Veteran's Day Thoughts from the Quilts of Valor Foundation

"At the end of World War I, the war to end all wars, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the world paused to celebrate the dawn of peace. It was a brief peace, to be sure, but at the time, it seemed full of hope. The day was "Armistice Day", but later became "Veterans' Day", in recognition of the sacrifices made by the serving members of the Armed Forces. Congress ultimately dedicated the day in that spirit, in 1938, twenty years after the end of the First War, and under the shadow of the beginning of the Second World War.

Today we celebrate the sacrifices of our service members in many wars, and in keeping the peace in between. The day has never been more important, more vivid, more necessary than today. We are engaged now in wars which have lasted longer than any prior war, fought by veterans who have deployed further, and longer than any of their ancestors. We have failed our veterans returning from previous wars, from Korea, the forgotten war, to Viet Nam, the unpopular war, and we are determined not to repeat that shameful past. Politics aside, our veterans go where they are ordered, do what they must, and deserve our most heartfelt thanks. The stress they undergo to leave family, friends, career and country, to fight for us, is beyond civilian capacity to comprehend. The debt we owe them is beyond reckoning. Join us in honoring them, for doing what few would do, what must be done, by the best of us. We are forever in their debt, and a day of honor does not even come close to repayment."

Amazing words from the Quilts of Valor Foundation! Check out their website to read about the amazing things they do for our veterans!

The Experience!!!

Are you looking for something AWESOME to do this weekend for FREE! Well then grab your best pals, your kids, or just come on your own to "The Experience", an indie art and craft fair showcasing creative folks from right here in Fort Worth!

We recently had a news crew come to our shop to film a promotional highlight to air on local channel, 33! There were a couple of artists/crafters that will be at the show who set up booths in our shop to be featured and here are some pictures from the day!

Everyone setting up!

The CameraMan!

This booth belongs to The Curious Cake Shoppe. She creates some of the most adorable baby items I've ever seen! Some of the ladies were calling dibs on those cute baby hats before the booth was even set up!

This is the booth of Revel Designs! She's got a great eye for creating home decor and we were all gaga over her creations! I especially love that fabric birdcage and little birdies to go along with it!

And this lovely setup is property of Original Youth! Her multimedia paintings are utterly striking! It was so much fun getting a close look at her beautiful pieces and discovering all the hidden paper bits like stamps and tickets!

This is the Funky Finds booth! They set up a sort of preview showcasing many different items from different vendors that will be at "The Experience". You can read more about Funky Finds and this wonderful craft show on the Funky Finds website!

We are sponsoring this fun event and will have a vendor booth as well, so come out and see all the beautiful and handmade goodness!!!
