New Serendipity Studio Patterns!

Kay Whitt just dropped off her latest Serendipity Studio patterns and we couldn't be more excited! She's brought us two new dress patterns and two new bag patterns that are just too sweet for words!

Serendipity Studio - Betty June Dress  Serendipity Studio - Diane Kimono Dress
Serenidpity Studio - Rita Reversible Bag  Serendipity Studio - Camilla Insulated Bag

The Betty June Dress harkens to the 1940's and 50's with its modern take on the shirt-waist dress while the Diane Kimono Dress takes an Eastern inspiration and makes the most comfortable dress possible! The Rita Reversible Bag allows you to showcase your NEW favorite fabrics with a simple design and the Camilla Insulated Bag is the perfect pattern for utilizing our amazing Laminated Fabrics and will keep your lunch, picnic, or groceries nice and cool! So whether you need a great new dress or a fun new bag, Serendipity Studios has you covered this Summer!

And don't forget! Kay Whitt will be speaking at our August Sew Fresh meeting! We can't wait to hear all she has to share!

Kid's Camp Quilt Show!

Our first week of Kid's Camp was a total success! Our campers had a blast learning the ins and outs of quilt construction while enjoying the ability to stretch their creative muscles with picking out fabrics and deciding what goes where! And look at those finished products! Everyone's quilt top came out so amazing! All of the parents were wowed by how much their kids had learned in one short week at the Kid's Camp Quilt Show this past Friday!

Here they are showing their BONUS pillowcase project!

The campers were in love with all of our tissue paper flower decorations all over the store so we gave them a little tutorial and they each made their own to hang in their rooms! Too cute!

If you have wanted to get your kids into sewing or at least have them learn the basics, then sign them up for our final round of Kid's Camp! They'll be creating the same big star quilt you see in the first picture which is a great first timer project! Camp is open to kids ages 7-15 and includes all the fabric they'll need, quilt pattern, class instructions, yummy snacks and few extra surprises! It's only a month away so SIGN UP your kiddos now!

Date: July 25-29, each day from 9am-12pm

Kid's Camp Progress!

We are having SO much fun with our Kid's Camp students so far and we are blown away with how fabulous their quilts are looking!!

Look how beautifully they're coming together! It's so awesome seeing what these little minds can achieve with direction and encouragement and that's just what we give them! I cannot wait until Friday to see how they all look completely finished!

These kiddos are working hard and learning lots creating the big star quilt!

Every child gets to pick out their own fabric which allows them to really express themselves creatively! We believe that giving kids an opportunity to create something with their own hands, that reflects their own personality, really gives them a true love of the quilting craft and can set them on a road of constant creating! And we just love seeing new creative minds blossoming!

Our Kid's Camp students enjoying a break!
If you would like for your kiddos to learn quilting basics and get a foundation for creating, then sign them up for Kid's Camp! We still have a few spots open for the July 25-29 round of camp and would love to see your little ones there! You can get all the info and even sign your child up right here!

Create for Father's Day!!

This coming Sunday is Father's Day, time to celebrate Dad for all that he is and all that he does! Why not make him something extra special this year? After all, a guy can only wear so many neck ties! In preperation for the holiday, we've got some really cool just-for-Dad Pillowcase Kits on SALE for only $9 per kit!

Custom Camera Strap Tutorial!

I'm so crazy about this awesome tutorial by Miss Megan of the Brassy Apple blog! As someone who takes pictures A LOT, I know just how important a good camera strap is to keeping your camera with you at all times. And the adage is most definitely true, the best camera is the one you have with you! With this awesome tutorial you can make an adorable, customized camera strap for yourself or make them as gifts for any budding photographers you know!

All you need is a Charm Pack (all of our charm packs are currently on SALE!) and some fusible fleece! But it doesn't take an entire Charm Pack to complete this project, Megan used only 5 squares for each strap she created, meaning you can create 8 completely different with all the prints included in your Charm Pack of choice! Now if that isn't ringing some bells for potential Christmas gifts, then you need another cup of coffee! :)

You can find the full instructions with more pretty pictures on the Moda Bake Shop blog! Or just click here to print off the instructions. Happy Creating!
