Fig Tree Trunk Show & SALE!!

Hey everyone!! We hope you all had the best Thanksgiving Day! But now, it's time for shopping! For any of our local customers, you simply MUST make it into the Cabbage Rose today or tomorrow! We currently have Fig Tree & Co.'s newest Trunk Show and it's just too sweet to miss seeing it in person!

The front bed is dressed in Fig Tree's best with the Stems Quilt making quite the splash with everyone who sees it! I can't tell you how many ladies we've helped pick out Fig Tree prints to make this quilt! We've also had lots of Mama's and Grandma's asking for the Goodnight Moon robe pattern!  Make this little robe in some of our deliciously soft Flannels (we have every style from masculine to feminie, sophisticated to whimsical) and whoever you give it to won't ever want to take it off!

Aren't these Mini Stockings the cutest? What a fun Christmas decor idea, and a great way to use less traditional fabrics! They would even be sweet to make as your pet's stockings! Dog biscuits and or chew bones will look too cute poking out of these tiny stockings!

Make these adorable little pincushions with the Strawberry Shortcake pattern! This would make a great Christmas present for the ladies in your quilt bee or guild! What quilter or sewer couldn't use another especially cute pincushion?

I really love the Pillow Duet pattern, with it you can make both styles of pillows shown here! I especially love the fabric covered buttons used to embellish these sweet bed accessories! They were made using the i-top Brad Maker!

And these are probably my favorite of her new patterns! Three Blind Mice is another sweet pincushion pattern that only takes a few Fat Quarters to complete! And they are just too cute for words!! We're currently out of stock right now (they've been flying off the shelves since Festival) but we'll be getting some more in soon so if you'd like us to hold one for you and send it out when it arrives, give us a call! 817-377-3993

We also have Joanna's newest patterns from her stamp wallhanging series, Singing in the Rain and Bunny Duet! These would both be so adorable to hang up for Spring or even Easter decor! And that applique and emrboidery just looks like too much fun!! So come on out and check out all of the beautiful Fig Tree Samples and get inspired!!

Thanksgiving Hours & NEW Buttons, Trims and More from Riley Blake!

Hey everyone! Hope you're all staying as relaxed as possible doing all the prep for your Thanksgiving feasts this Thursday! We're all getting so excited for the Holiday season to get into full swing and come Friday, the countdown is truly on! So come on out to see us and get the rest of your Christmas shopping finished!! Or at least come pick up some Cabbage Rose Gift Certificates for all your sewing and quilting buddies, or to scoop up a bunch of Pillowcase Kits for stuffing stockings!

And speaking of Stocking Stuffers, we have just added all of our NEW Trims & Embellishments to the website! All of the Sew Together accessories from Riley Blake are custom colored to match all of the other items, so if you buy a Hot Pink Button card and some Hot Pink Crochet Trim, you're gauranteed to get the exact same color! That's stress relief at its finest, yall. So many cute new ButtonsRic Rac, new sizes and colors of Pom Pom fringe, and Zippers in every color of the rainbow! All of which are essential items for any sewer's arsenal, so round up some of your favorite items in one color or a few of your favorites and make your own embellishment gift pack for any of the sewers on your shopping list!

The 1/2" Red Pom Poms are the perfect Christmas trim in my humble oppinion! Or you could use some Red Ric Rac to add a little punch to your Christmas Tree Napkins! Just pin the ric rac in between your two semi-circles when you are laying them right sides together so that half of the ric rac sticks out the top and sew as you normally would! If that curve seems intimidating (trust me, you can do it!) just can just put the ric rac on the straight side of your semi-circles! Easy Peasy! So check out our Notions & Trims section to shop online or come into the this Friday store to see our awesome Sew Together display! You'll be inspired for sure! And all of you procrastinators out there (represent!), come into the store and get those last minute handmade gift ideas!!

Christmas Tree Napkin Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

We are so excited about the holidays around Cabbage Rose!

Here is a quick and easy tutorial on how to make those cute little Christmas Tree napkins for your home this holiday season!
Photobucket
What you need (makes 2 napkins):
2 Fat Quarters of pretty coordinating Christmas fabrics
The biggest mixing bowl you have
Scissors
Coordinating thread
Iron & board
Photobucket
Stack your fabrics and place the mixing bowl upside down on top of them.
Photobucket
Cut around the bowl (through both fabrics) about an inch away from the bowl.
Photobucket
Fold your circles in half and cut down the fold.
Photobucket
Now you should have 4 semi-circles.
Photobucket
Pin two coordinating semi-circles right sides together and sew almost all the way around the edge. Leave 1-2" for turning.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Flip your semi-circles right sides out and top-stitch the opening you left for turning.
Fold & press like a Christmas tree. (Follow the folds below).
