Urban Mod by Art Gallery Fabrics is here!!

I've got to say, when we get  shipment from Art Gallery Fabrics in, it's a little like Christmas around the Cabbage Rose! We are literally tearing through the boxes as fast as our fingers will let us to gaze upon the gorgeous prints of their latest groupings and especially, to touch it! Oh, because if you didn't already know, the element that truly sets Art Gallery apart is their totally delicious 100% Pima Cotton! Seriously, once you Feel the Difference, you'll never want to make clothing with anything BUT their fantastic fabrics!! Especially once you see the prints in the new collection Urban Mod!!

How cute is this top?? And it really doesn't look that difficult! Grab a simple shirt that you already have in non-stretch fabric and trace the outline of the garment onto some craft paper, freezer paper, Do Sew or whatever you have handy! Then, draw an asymetrical line on your pattern where you want the two fabrics to meet and cut it out (remember to add seam allowances!!) Then pick your two coordinating fabrics, lay the pattern pieces over the fabric and cut out your 4 pieces accordingly! Then you can piece the two front pieces and two back pieces together to create the full shirt shape again, then you're ready to sew them both together! Finish the sleeves, hemline and neck  easily by rolling the unfinished edges twice and stitching! Easy peasy yall!

One of my FAVORITE ways to bring some color and pattern into a room is with wall art and there's probably no easier, CHEAPER or cuter method than framing some awesome fabrics in varying sizes of embroidery hoops! It looks especially cute in a craft or sewing room but these fabric circles lend a modern look to any space so they are a great way to add some pizazz to a bedroom!

Any of the prints in this collection would be FAB as a flirty skirt for Spring!! Why not take Caroline's Perfect with Pockets Class THIS THURSDAY, 3-5pm and you'll learn how to create an adorable wardrobe basic that looks anything but, PLUS you'll get 10% OFF any fabric and supplies you purchase for the Class! Talk about a great incentive to learn something new!

Make a bunch of easy throw pillows in one print or do a little patchwork on one or two and accent with solids! Recover a chair, make some curtains, a Gum Drop Pillow...anything will be that much cuter dressed in Urban Mod!!
